Drawing on ideas found in Awareness Through Movement we will work in guided lessons with the emphasis on independent process, always finding our own pace.
The workshops aim to offer an accessible opportunity to take some time and space to explore dynamic stability in movement. No particular training is necessary, just an interest in discovering through your own movement experience - whether your focus is to inform your own work or to find more ease and spontaneity in everyday actions.
Bring a mat and/or blanket for floor work and warmth.

Fiona Wright has a workshop approach that is influenced by many somatic practices and experiential anatomy, especially Awareness Through Movement (Feldenkrais Method) in which she is now an authorised teacher.

  • some short improvisations as further individual explorations
  • each working at our own pace with ease and enjoyment
  • no particular training or background necessary

  • strategies for finding creative solutions in physical exploration

Louise Coleman is a Performance Maker and Inclusive Facilitator. Working across the boundaries between theatre and dance her work uses movement and autobiographical stories to look at different understandings of the body, including (dis)ability. The Feldenkrais Method influences all of Louise’s work. http://louisecoleman.yolasite.com

Fiona Wright has been making performances and teaching for over twenty years, working through choreography, writing and installation, using many somatic practices.
